9 lIFE LESSONS FROM "THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS"



1.  “It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas         Jefferson...... The Declaration of Independence...... and         the part about our right to life, liberty and the pursuit         of happiness. And I remember thinking. How did he know to         put the "pursuit" part in there? That maybe happiness is    something that we can only pursue.And maybe we can actually     never have it...... no matter what.”

2.  I'm the type of person......if you ask me a question, and I don't know the answer......I'm gonna tell you that I don't know. But I bet you what. I know how to find the answer, and I will find the answer.

 

3.  What would you say if a guy walked in for an interview......without a shirt on......and I hired him? What would you say? “He must've had on some really nice pants.”

 

4.  Don't ever let somebody tell you... ...you can't do something. Not even me.

You got a dream......you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves......they wanna tell you you can't do it.

If you want something, go get it. Period.

 5.  One day, a man was drowning in the water.

And a boat came by and said,

"Do you need any help?"

He said, " No, thank you.

God will save me."

Then another boat came by.

Said, "Do you need any help?"

And he said, " No, thank you.

God will save me.

Then he drowned,

and he went to heaven.

And he said, " God,

why didn't you save me?"

And God said, " I sent you

two big boats, you dummy."

 6.  In order not to waste any time...... I wasn't hanging up the phone in between calls. I realized that by not hanging up the phone..... I gained another eight minutes a day.

7.  We all have to deal with mountains. You know, mountains that go way up high. And mountains that go deep and low. We know what those mountains are, here at Glide. We sing about them.

8.       Some things are fun the first time you do them......and then not so much the next.

9.  “- Was it as easy as it looked?

    -    No, sir. No, sir, it wasn't.”
